I've always had a thing for collages. I think maybe its because I'm a wannabe artist, and collages were pretty much the only thing I could ever make that didn't look totally fucking retarded. At least I don't think they did. For all I know, my bunkmates from sleep away camp are still sitting around at some cool reunion I purposely didn't get invited to saying shit like: "do you remember that chick Erica? Her collages were SOOOOO BAD."
Clic Gallery in NYC (which, by the way, is a KILLER spot to get fab, reasonably-ish priced artwork) is selling some supa fly limited edition collages right now from Lulu de Kwiatkowski (of Lulu DK fabrics) and legendary pro surfer turned artiste Tony Caramanico.
Both artists mix painting, magazine clippings, photographs, and in Caraminico's case, personal doodles to create colorful, fun, collage-y pieces of artwork.
I kinda want one of each.
